Crockpot Country Spare Ribs
Ingredients
6 Pounds, Country style spare ribs, bone in
1 large white Onion, diced
1 Tablespoon, Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon, Butter
1 cup, Ketchup
1 teaspoon, garlic powder
1 teaspoon, chili powder
1 teaspoon, dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon, smoked paprika or regular paprika
Good pinch, Salt & Pepper
½ cup, Brown Sugar
2 cups, Water
1/8 cup, Worcestershire
3 tablespoons, Corn Starch
½ cup, cold water
Instructions
Add oil and butter to frying pan. Sauté the diced onion on the stove over a medium-high heat for about 3 minutes or until the onion is translucent. Add the ketchup, garlic powder, chili powder, mustard, paprika, s&p, brown sugar, water, Worcestershire and cook for about 5 minutes until nice and bubbly and all ingredients are combined. In a small bowl, mix corn starch and water (mix really good so there are no lumps) and add to your sauce. Put spare rib meat into crock pot and pour sauce over the meat to cover.
Cook on how for 8-10 hours. Cook on high for 5-6 hours
Arrange spare ribs on a platter. You can add a small cup/bowl of extra sauce for dipping. No knives required!! The meat will just fall off the bone.
Tips
Serve with a side of coleslaw or potato salad.
The leftover meat is also great for making pulled pork sandwiches topped with my homemade coleslaw recipe.
Mangia! Enjoy!
