Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 Degrees.  Spray a baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.

Cook pasta according to directions.

While pasta is cooking, make your cheese filling.  In a bowl, add Ricotta Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, parsley, garlic powder, S&P and mix until well combined.  Set aside.

Drain pasta noodles but do not rinse them.

Add about 1 cup of your sauce to the bottom of your casserole dish.  Add a layer of noodles then a layer of the cheese mixture and another scoop of sauce. Spread the mixture around so all noodles are covered.  Keep repeating this process until all ingredients are in the casserole dish.  You should finish with a layer of sauce on top.  Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese over the top and then grate some Parmesano-Reggiano cheese over the top.

Bake in oven for approx. 20 with foil over the top.  Remove the foil and continue cooking for about another 20 minutes or just until the top gets nice and golden and the casserole looks bubbly hot.  Remove from oven and let sit for a few minutes to let the casserole set.  This will make it easier to serve.  You can place foil over the top while it is sitting.

Serve with a little extra Bolognese sauce on top and a little grated cheese if you like.  You can also garnish with some of the fresh parsley and add a side of garlic bread.

Mangia! Enjoy!

Notes

I like a thicker, meaty sauce in this recipe.  My Bolognese sauce is perfect to add to this.  Click here to get the recipe: Dee’s Bolognese Sauce
