Pizza Dough
Makes 2-12" Pizza Doughs or 1 Deep Dish
Ingredients
3 Cups, All-Purpose Flour
1 package (1/4 oz), Active Dry Yeast
2 Tablespoons, Sugar
1 Cup, warm water
1 Teaspoon, Salt
2 Tablespoons, Olive Oil
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix the sugar, water and yeast and set aside. In the separate bowl or in your mixer, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center of the flour and add your wet ingredients. Stir well until dough starts to become smooth. If the dough is too sticky try adding a little flour until it is the right texture. Remove, spray a bowl with cooking spray, add the ball of dough to the bowl and cover with a towel. Set aside in a warm place for approx. 1 hour until the dough has doubled in size.
Remove from bowl, cut in 1/2 if making 2-12″ crusts. Roll out onto a floured surface. Bake 1 side in 400 degree oven just until bottom of crust is slightly browning. Then remove from oven, flip over and top with your favorite toppings.
Tips
To make a Gluten Free Pizza, just substitute gluten free flour for your regular baking flour.
The Active Dry Yeast is Gluten Free also; I use Hodgson Mill Active Dry Yeast and theirs is not only gluten free but they also prepare and package their products in a dedicated gluten–free facility.
You could also add some herbs to your crust to give it more flavor.
You can also stuff the crust with cheese: lay mozzarella sticks around outer edge of crust, wrap with the dough and bake. Easy Cheese stuffed crust!
